Buddies, Writing off a Word, Analyzing Maps, Math Stations, and more!

For some reason, the pictures copied from Friday to Monday.
We are going to go with the flow.

On Friday, we had buddy time with Mrs. Johnson's Class!

In writing this week, we worked on creating a list of very important nouns.
Then, we chose one word and worked on writing long.
The goal was to write as much as possible about that noun before choosing another noun to write about.

Later in the week, we went back and read what we wrote to see if there were places where we could add more detail. We circled a word from our old writing and then wrote the circled word on another page.
We then elaborated on the new word.

In Science, we analyzed different maps and began making conclusions
about how the earth is changing.

This picture has nothing to do with school, but it sure caught my eye Thursday night after Open House.

We had our first assembly on Wednesday.
The kids were excited to see old teachers and friends from other classes!

In reading, we did some reflection on our highs and lows for reading.

We will be using this information to create a reading goal this week!

In Science, we began with making observations of a picture and writing our wonders and questions.

In math, we learned a few math games while Mrs. C pulled small groups.

We love 24!!!

We also played a game where we create two double-digit numbers using playing cards.
The goal is to get as close as possible to 100!
The player with the lowest score wins the game.

We had a special visitor come to our class this week to teach us
that we have more in common than differences.

We worked with a partner to find out what we have in common.
It was a great way to learn more about others in the classroom
and to find others that may have a common interest.

Ms. K (Orchestra) and Mr. Schwartz came by to talk to the class about
band and orchestra!

On the first day of school, we had a snowball fight!
We wrote down three things about ourselves, crumpled the paper up into a snowball,
and threw the snowballs around.
Then, we read off the clues and had to guess who it was from the class.

The first of many class pictures.
I think we have a pretty incredible Cacioppo Crew this year!
